About Power of Attorney & Document Management

Power of Attorney (वारिसनामा) is a legal document that allows you to authorize another person (family member, lawyer, or trusted agent) to act on your behalf in Nepal while you are abroad. This is essential for property transactions, bank operations, legal representation, and government document procedures. Our secure document vault helps you store and manage all important documents digitally.

Types of Power of Attorney

🏠 Property & Land (सम्पत्ति)
Authorize land sales, purchases, Lalpurja transfers, or property registration at Land Revenue Office (Malpot).
🏦 Banking & Financial (बैंकिंग)
Bank account operations, fixed deposit withdrawal, loan processing, or financial transactions.
⚖️ Legal & Court (अदालत)
Court representation, legal case filing, or appearing before government offices for legal matters.
📋 General Purpose (साधारण)
Multiple purposes including document collection, signature on your behalf, or general administrative tasks.

Embassy Attestation Process

To issue a Power of Attorney from abroad, you must visit the Consular Section of the Embassy of Nepal in your country of residence. The consular officer will verify your identity using your Nepali citizenship and passport, witness your signature on the Warisnama document, and provide official attestation with the embassy seal. This attestation makes the document legally valid in Nepal after MoFA verification.

Required Documents for POA

  • Original Nepali Citizenship Certificate (नागरिकता प्रमाणपत्र)
  • Valid Nepali Passport with visa/residence proof abroad
  • Power of Attorney draft document (Warisnama prepared by lawyer)
  • Two recent passport-size photographs
  • Consular fee payment (varies by embassy, usually USD 25-50)

  • After embassy attestation, the document MUST be verified at MoFA Nepal before use in government offices
  • Keep multiple certified copies - original stays with the authorized person, you keep attested copies
  • POA can be revoked anytime by submitting cancellation notice at the issuing embassy and Nepal MoFA

Note: Consular services, fees, and POA requirements vary by embassy location. Always contact the Embassy of Nepal in your country for the latest procedures, fees, and appointment requirements before visiting.
